Palmetto Boy's State, sponsored annually by the South Carolina American Legion, takes young men who havp demonstrated leadership in their own communities and trains them in the democratic principles of government by setting up the apparatus of city, county, and state government and having these young people actually participate in the organization, election, and functions of these governmental units.
