We all extend our greatest sympathy to Ethel McLendon and family in the death of her little new grandson, Clevis Wilkes, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Clevis Wilkes. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Mclnvaille and Mrs. J. B. Boyce visited Mr. and Mrs. E. I. Neal in Greenwood recently. Grace Nelson celebrated a birthday on Apirl 22. Mrs. Marion Lawson, Mrs. Andy Hames, Mrs. Grace Nelson. Mrs. Corine Phipps and Joyce Dunaway attended an all night singing in Spartanburg on April 22. Mr. and Mrs. Furman Bratcher went fishing at Clark Hill the past week and made a goon eaten 01 iisn. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spreano of Arlington, Virginia are spending this week with Mrs. Spreano's father, Mr. S. J. Todd, and other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Harper and family of Greenwood spent Sunday with Mr. S. J. Todd. Linda Stone celebrated a birthday May 10. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stone of Laurens, Mrs. Reba Dunaway and sons and Mrs. Bill Patterson and children visited Roger Patterson, who is in training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davenport. Dianne, Kathy and Edd C hildress visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shealy and family in Greenville recently. Mr. and Mrs. Posey Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammed spent a few days in Atlanta. Little Dell Campbell, grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Burdette, will celebrate her 4th birthday on May 31. Mrs. R. E. Butler and children, Mrs. Daisy Corley, Carry Moore and Robert Corley of Greenwood visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corley. Mr. and Mrs. Jack White and family Beatrice White visited Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd White in Gaffney recently. The Ray Boozers visited in Newberry and Saluda recently. Mr. and Mrs. Woody Gos ncll and family of Columbia spent a week end recently with Mr. and Mrs. C. T. James. Cecil Davenport celebrated his 21st birthday on May 4. John Shealy celebrated a birthday on May 12. Irene Davenport will celebrate her birthday on Mav 2o. Mr. Claude Willard has been out several days with an injury. We all wish for him a speedy recovery. WEAVING No. 1 2nd Shift By?Lillian Forester H. N. Hughev and Bennie Sinclair have been fishing a good many times this month but they have caught only some small bass, but they have good hopes of catching some large ones soon. So get out your fishing tackle and meet them on the way to Lake Greenwood. Ed Burdette has been fishing too but he said he only caught a sunburn. Eddie Abercrombie, son of Mr and Mrs. L. W. Abercrombie Lydia Mills, recently spent a 14 day leave with his parents. He is presently stationed at Norfolk Virginia. THE CLOTHMAKER Webb Taylor says he's been doing some fishing but he has not caught any large enough to brag about yet, but he will soon. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Ledford and Pvt. Kenneth Armstrong spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Armstrong. Mr. & Mrs. W. H. Campbell of Fountain Inn, C. T. Campbell of Whitmire and L. H. Campbell of Spartanburg visited Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Campbell last week while W. K. Campbell was in the hospital. Mrs. Dova Broome has been cut with the flu, but is feeling better now. Miss Betty McDonald, daughter of Mrs. Dova Broome has had the flu. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Forester and Gene and Jerry visited the D. E. Lawtons in Orangeburg last week end. Mrs. Carol Lawton and daughter. Mrs. Christine Campbell, mother of Mrs. H. C. English. has been a patient at Hays Hospital for several days due to an illness. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Campbell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 10th. They are the parents of Cleve lanci Lampoen. Mrs. Lola Mae Overstreet had a birthday May 21. WEAVING No. 2 2nd Shift By?Thelma Stewart Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Moore have made several trips to Charleston to visit his mother who is a patient at Medical College Hospital. We welcome Bobby Bowling back with us after being out sick several days. Mr. and Mrs. James Stewart and sons visited in Tryon, N. C. the other Sunday and we stayed and attended the funeral of Mr. William Lindsay. Mr. and Mrs. James Stewart, Mrs. Ernestine Terrel and Mrs. Ralph Lanford attended the services Sunday which are held each year at the Eastern Star Home in Sumter. We stopped in Columbia on the way back and visited Mrs. Terrel's grand daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hall of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas spent the day the other Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Hughey and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gregory gave his father a surprise birthday dinner April 23 at the lunch room at the school house. There were 50 present. Questions and Answers About 1 W 000-00-0000 W H Your Social Security Question: I have never worked under Social Security, but for the last 4 years I have taken care of young children in my home while their parents worked. I get about S750 each year from this. Should the parents of the children have been reporting the amount they paid me as wages? Answer: No, you are selfemployed. If your profit from this business is $400 a year or more, you must, as a self-employed person pay your own social security tax. The internal revenue office will furnish you the necessary forms to complete. Question: My husband and I separated in 1952 and I just found out he is receiving a social security payment based on his work. I was 62 in October 1960. Can I get a social security check as his wife, even though we don't live together? Answer: Yes. provided neither of you have obtained a divorce. The fact that you are separated does not prevent you from getting checks as his wife. You should visit your social security office at once. Question: I am 40 and worked under social security until 1948. when I had to quit because of my disability. 1 want to know if I can draw disability checks now.
