Mr. John Medlock is visiting for a few weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander and family. Mr. Medlock is Mrs. Alexander's father. Mrs. Thelma Coker, mother n of Donnie Coker, is a patient J at Medical College Hospital in Charleston. a Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Rice 1 attended the funeral of Mr. F Rice's aunt, Mrs. Sallie Biggs, ^ in Asheville, N. C. v Our sympathy goes to Mr. ^ and Mrs. Albert Cothran and family in the loss of Mr 1 Cothran's grandmother who f passed away February 7. $ Homer Lawson and family have had flu. Beatrice Hawks and Daisy Cothran had flu. Daisy's baby and Albert have been sick too. Mrs. Doris Butler and baby, o Rhonda Butler, were sick o with flu. We sincerely hope that everyone will soon be feeling fine again and that the flu epidemic will soon subside. "Petesie" Barker, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Barker, is home after being a medical patient in the Newberry Hospital for almost two weeks. We're glad to report that she is improving. Mr. R. T. Trammell is a patient at General Hospital in Greenville awaiting surgery. We send our sincere good wishes to him for a complete recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gibbs and Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Gibbs couldn't stay home the beautiful Sunday of February 7, so they just piled into the car and headed for the mountains of North Carolina. Doris said they tried for Mount Mitchell but ran into a road block? too much snow on up. but she said it was really beautiful. The Men's Bible Class of Elizabeth Street Church of God enjoyed a fish fry February 6, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Lanford. She and Ola went to Greenville on a little shopping spree recently (Ethel had to swap shifts to get out and Ola was already out with a burned hand, they had been trying to get out on the same day for about 3 weeks, and they finally made it!) Then it rained all day! But Ethel said they had a good time anyway. Sure hope everyone who is sick will soon be well again and able to be back on their job. WEAVING NO. 3 2ND SHIFT By Christine Brewer Many people have been sick with flu recently. Among those were Mrs. Doris Smith, Mr. Jammie Brewer, Mrs. E. D. McCullough. Mrs. A. A. Barker has been seriously ill in Hays Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davis and children, who have been makin their home with Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Lancaster, have moved to Lauren?? Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wells of Greenwood spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Madden. Mrs. Wells is Mrs. Madden's sister. Mr. and Mrs. Madden visited in Athens, Ga. a few weeks ago. Sam brought back two collards and one o'possum. I wonder did he eat that 'possum. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Smith were married 13 years on February 1. Mrs. Edith Lee of Joanna gave her mother and brother, Mrs. Margaret Taylor and Lovd Taylor, a surprise birthday dinner on Sunday the 7th of February. Lovd is 46 years old. It seems the folks in our department have stayed home pretty much since Christmas, maybe because the weather has been too bad to get out. Mr. and Mrs. Joe T. Shetley of Union spent a week end recently with Mr. and Mrs. E N. Harriel. Mrs. Shetley is Mr. Harriel's sister. Mr. and Mrs. David Pulley and Mr. and Mrs. Furman Bragg had supper at Blaziers a Sunday night recently. (Ask Ruth Bragg how she likes shrimp cocktail.)
