Holmes, Mary Terry have all
been out sick and Ola Meadows
is out nursing a badly
burned hand. We sincerely
hope that everyone will soon
be feeling fine again and that
the flu epidemic will soon
subside.
"Petesie" Barker, small
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete
Barker, is home after being a
medical patient in the Newberry
Hospital for almost two
weeks. We sincerely hope her
recovery will be complete and
within the near future.

We almost forgot to tell
you. but Ethel's Mother-In
Law tongue did bloom, little
tinv pink ones. She and Ola
went to Greenville on a little
shopping spree recently
(Ethel had to swap shifts to
get out and Ola was already
out with a burned hand, they
had been trying to get out
on the same day for about 3
weeks, and they finally made
it!) Then it rained all day!
But Ethel said they had a
good time anyway.
Sure hope everyone who is
sick will soon be well again
and able to be back on their
job.

2ND SHIFT

Many people have been sick
with flu recently. Among
those were Mrs. Doris Smith,
Mr. Jammie Brewer, Mrs.
E. D. McCullough. Mrs. A. A.
Barker has been seriously ill
in Hays Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davis and
children, who have been makin
their home with Mr. and
Mrs. W. L. Lancaster, have
moved to Lauren??
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wells
of Greenwood spent Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Madden. Mrs. Wells is Mrs.
Madden's sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Madden visited
in Athens, Ga. a few
weeks ago. Sam brought back
two collards and one o'possum.
I wonder did he eat that
'possum.
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Smith
were married 13 years on
February 1.
Mrs. Edith Lee of Joanna
gave her mother and brother,
Mrs. Margaret Taylor and
Lovd Taylor, a surprise
birthday dinner on Sunday
the 7th of February. Lovd is
46 years old. He and his
mother's birthday is on the
same day, February 8.

Well, another month has
rolled around. My, how time
does fly. It seems the folks
in our department have
stayed home pretty much
since Christmas, maybe because
the weather has been
too bad to get out.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe T. Shetley
of Union spent a week end
recently with Mr. and Mrs.
E N. Harriel. Mrs. Shetley is
Mr. Harriel's sister.

and Mr. and Mrs. Furman
Bragg had supper at Blaziers
a Sunday night recently. (Ask
Ruth Bragg how she likes
shrimp cocktail.)
