U* " - ' "Just Westing" ? This lovely oung lady is Paula Jean Tyson, iur months old daughter of i/2C and Mrs. Paul Tyson, Clinan Mills. Paul is presently servig with the Air Force in Denver, lolorado. Prior to entering serice Paul was employed at Clinan Mills. THE CLOTHMAKER 7th at Hays Hospital. The little girl has been named Wanda Gail. Congratulations to Sam and Sandra, and we hope the little girl will have curly hair just like her daddy. Ola is sailing along on a pink cloud these days. She got word that Harold and his family will leave England May 5th for the states, besides getting to see a son she hasn't seen in 3 years, she'll get to see a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren she's never seen. Yes. I said two grandchildren. Johnny, who is 14 months old. and little Janie Elizabeth, who arrived March 12. So if Ola Meadows seems a little gone once in a ...u:i~ 1- -ii - wiiiic biieb pruoaoiy jusi meeting that little family from overseas about half way. Jim Meadows got quite a shock recently. He got news of a new grandson that no one here knew anything about. A telegram came telling them of the arrival of James Curry Meadows, March 12. son of M/Sgt. and Mrs. James Meadows, of Shepherd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls. Texas. M/Set. and Mrs. Meadows have a little girl 10 years old and they haven't been home in almost two years, so thev kept their news to surprise the folks, and they really did surprise everyone. Jim says they're expecting them home the last of June. Roy Cannon is grandpa again, too. They got a tele pram Easter Sunday telling of the arrival of a granddaughter in Alaska. The little girl was born March 28 to S/Sgt and Mrs. Calvin Lee in Anchorage. Alaska, and has named Katherine Elaine and weighed 5 lbs. ll> oz. at birth. Dorothy Jewel Brewington. daughter of the Newell Brewington's. and about ten of the grandchildren of the Jim Meadows have been ill with measles. Measles are a real peskv thing once thev get started and we sincerely hope they've about run out around here. Thev've really had a whooping time out at the Dewey Lawrences, too. All four of the grandchildren who live with them have had a real case of whooping cough. Wo sure hope they are all about well bv now. Glad to report that Mrs. James Harris, of State Park, is still improving and is '-eheduled to undergo surgerv the second week in Mav. We all send our very best wishes to her. Mrs. Alice Kuvkendoll has alreadv moved into he** new house. It isn't ouite finished vet but she iust couldn't wait. It's reallv a lovelv little home. She wanted to take this means of thanking evervone again for making it easier for her to get back into a home of her own this soon, and invites evervone to come out to soo her?but not evervone at once?please. Rudolph Barker savs he has an Azalea blooming, and F.velvn Simmons said she bought two new dresses at one time, and she knew that was news' Mr and Mrs. Ashmore Dunawav announce the marriage of their daughter. Margaret to PFC Robert Slatman on April 2. at Laurens County Court House, by Probate Judge Wasson. Robert's home is in Englewood, Colorado, but he is stationed at Fort Eustus, Va. The young couple spent a few days in West Virginia and the bride will stay at the home of her parents at present but is planning to join her husband soon. Cecil and myself (Grace) spent a recent weekend in Columbia, with Jimmy and his family. (Maybe that isn't news, but the fact that we got back from down there should be). Quite a number of birthdays this time, some of them were celebrated and some were not: like J. R. Reynolds. March 20 (he almost wouldn't tell me) and A. G. Galloway ? (but he told me not to put that in here). M. D. Smitherman said he didn't care if I told everybody he was 37 April 7. Dot Lanford?April 13. and Christine McNinch April 15, Mrs. Mae Cunningham. April 30. Of course I didn't even ask these ages. Christine is new in our department. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gloyd and Norma Jean visited the Smokey Mountains during the Easter holidays. We are sorry to report that little Sammy Holtzclaw and Jackie Gilmer have been sick with the measles. We are glad to have Mrs. Josephine Turner back with us after being on a leave for a month.
