JUNE. 1958 WEAVING 2ND SHIFT By Lillian Foresler Mrs. Dova Broome is taking her vacation early this year. She's leaving Sunday for Florida to visit her daughter and grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Walt Hughes and Debby visited Mrs. Hughes' parents in Belton Sunday. Mrs. Lillian Forester had as her guest last week end her sister-in-law, Mrs. J. C. Richev, of Atlanta, Ga. C. visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nelson recently. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Phipps, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Jones visited Mrs. Jones' parents in Tenn. recently. Brenda Patrick returned hump with hr>r mint for a two weeks' visit. Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Jon?s attended the annual Patrick reunion at Mrs. Jones' parents in Tenn. The first of June. Freddy Hanna is spending part of the summer in Woodruff with Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Johnson. Mrs. J. H. Wallenzine from Newberry visited Mrs. Lillie Belle Miller recently Mr. Fred Bodie and Mr. David Word attended a Shriners meeting in Greenville recently. Lydia Mills. SPINNING 2ND SHIFT By W. N. Nabors Well news time has come again. Your reporter had to lose several days because of illness, but am able to be back to work again. Ollie Littlefield is back after two days of sickness. Well vacation time is almost here and everybody is ready for it. There will be a lot of fishing going on during that week. Your reporter is planning on some pole fishing. I like the old time way. We really hope you all have a wonderful time on your vacation. but let me plead with everybody to be extra careful when you are on the highways and be back so we can get together again. Ben Sprouse was off several days on account of sickness. Your reporter was in Laurens last Sunday and visited two sisters and a niece. Sarah Boyter had the misfortune to fall and sprain her ankle the other day and we hope she will soon be able to return to work. Lewis Howell strained some muscles in his stomach and had to lose several days. We are indeed glad to welcome Hazel Turner to the Spinning Dept. Fred Mathis was also on the sick list. Louise Lamb of the Spooling Dept. also had to lose several days because of sickness. One of Delores McCravev's children had a bad cut on itJ leg the other day and I understand it took ten stitches tc close the wound. Mr. and Mrs. David (Pete) Branham are the proud parents of a baby girl born May 10 at Hayes hospital. Both mother and baby are doing fine. Mrs. Faye Henry and children, Ann Marie and Pat, of Myrtle Beach spent week before last with her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. ' Spradley. Myrtie Alewine and son, j Arthur, enjoyed a nice chicken box barbecue at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Vera Avery, at Newberry last Saturday evening.
