JUNE. 1958 WEAVING NO. 1 1ST SHIFT By Sudie Putnam Well it's news time again and everyone is eagerly looking forward to vacation time. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neal visited relatives in Greenville Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Terry and children visited Mrs. D. G. Jackson in Columbia recently. Mr. and Mis. Herman Veal and family of Commerce, Ga. visited the Nellie Prices during the past week end. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Siegler and family of Rock Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith of Edgefield visited the Putnams recently. Mrs. Edith Neal and Alta Riser were shoppers in Greenville last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Putnam visited Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Hembree of Gray Court Sunday. We are glad to report at this writing Mrs. James Harris is recuperating at her home in Laurens after undergoing treatment in the Laurens County Hospital. Mrs. Ella Harvey and daughter. F. Anderson in Gainesville, Ga. the week end of Mother's Day. We're glad to report that A. G. Galloway is able to return to work after a recent heart attack. And it seems the Galloways had quite a few visitors the past month. Bobby Joe Galloway of Moorehead. Minn, spent a few days with his parents. Bobby is attending the State College in Minnesota. preparing to teach and coach football. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Galloway and daughter Lejune of Oak Ridtie. Tenn. and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kelly and children of Charleston were also visitors. Susie remained to spend the summer with her grandparents. Mrs. Estelle Roland, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Mason visited their sister. Mrs. J. K. Smith, who is seriously ill in Hampton Hospital in Hampton, S. C. A 3C Furman Adams is taking his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Campbell and daughter, Becky, of Charlotte. N. C. spent a recent week end with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oxncr. Mary Terry said she couldn't think of any news, for thinking of how glad she'd be for vacation to get here. (Me, Tool) Glad to say that David Owens is slowly but surely improving since his serious accident in December, but sorry to say that his wife. (Irace. is ill now. We certainly hope for the best for them. It seems they've really had their share of troubles. At the time of this writing (June (>) Henrietta Dover is seriously ill in Laurens Hospital. Raymond McCoy wasn't a bit shy this month about talking about his fishing trips. He says they caught them every Saturday, for the last three weeks and he brought the pictures to prove it. In case you don't recognize Raymond in the pictures elsewhere in this issue, he's the fisherman with the biggest smile. R. C. Wilkie, DK2 receives his discharge from the Navv June 11 at Bainbridge, Md., after 4 years of service. His brother, Jerry, is meeting him in Bainbridge and they plan to visit places of interest in New Jersey and New York. Jerry is really thrilled over the trip. R. C. plans to enter U. S. C. in Columbia in the fall. Mr. and Mrs. Tan Windsor and children of Norfolk. Va. spent a recent week end with Mrs. Windsor's sister. Mrs. Gholdie Simmons and family. Miss Nancy Blease returned with them for several weeks visit. L. E. Wood of Norfolk. Va. spent a furlough with his mother, Mrs. Ola Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wood and baby spent the week end with (Jla also. Mrs. Roy Kennedy has returned home after being a patient at the Anderson Memorial Hospital. We hope for her a speedy recovery. C. spent last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Rov Cook of Newberry visited Mr. and Mrs. Olin Thompson recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lanford. Jr. announce the birth of a little girl May 25 at Blalock Clinic. She has been named Debra Lee. Mrs. Lanford is the former Carole Bryson. Debra Lee weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. She is real cute. She looks like her mama. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Trammell and family and Mr. and Mrs. Tommv Peace attended the Campbell reunion at Rainbow Lake June 8. We would like to welcome Vera Barnett and Shirley s Stroud to the 3rd Shift. 1 R. V. Mahaffey took some " real good pictures at our Barbecue.
