Crowe and Mrs. Bill Rowe of Hendersonville enjoyed (?) a picnic recently among 14 ft. icicles there. Have you ever tried eating frozen fried chicken in a 60 mile wind? Some fun! Think I'll wait for summer to go on another picnic! Mr. and Mrs. Bill Patterson celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on November 27. James McLendon spent the Thanksgiving holidays in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Eleanor Fuller celebrated her birthday on December 5. Pe^gy Mclnvaille, senior at Winthrop. spent Thanksgiving with her parents, the Grover Mclnvailles. Mr. and Mrs. Milt Milam spent a recent Sunday in Spartanburg as the guests of Mrs. Charles Wofford. Recent guests of the Milams were Mr. and Mrs. John Powell of Spartanburg?formerly of St. Petersburg. Fla. This was the first visit to Clinton in 25 years for the Powells. They were amazed and delighted with the change in our town and villages. Brenda Green observed her 17th birthday on December 2. Joyce Ann Todd spent the Thanksgiving h o 1 i d a y s in Greenwood with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sparine. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Abercrombie recently visited the latter's brother, M. J. Garrett, in Bessemer City. N. C. Mr. Garrett is a patient in the hospital there. Herman Burdette observed his 17th birthday on December 4. Happy birthday. Herman! The John Gallmans were recent quests of Mr. and Mrs. Kav Pot it t in Snintanhiirc - - ? - -1 ? r. Friends will bo interested to know that Pfc. Douglas DeYoung is attending a school at Ft. Bliss. Texas. He left by plane from National Airport in Washington. D. C.. Monday. He will be there for several months. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Allen <? > *??> <? > ^ of Columbia were Sunday visitors of the Harold Hamptons. Mrs. Eva Shock lev, mother of Martha Motte, was 61 years young on November 28. Sorry to report that John Motte continues ill. Our wishes for a speedy recovery. Frances Meeks will celebrate her birthday December 19. Don't know if it was by accident or design, but she neglected to tell us which one. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Burdette celebrated their Silver Wedding anniversary on December 3. Congratulations! Crowe. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Holland visited the Gaddy geese farm in Ansonvilie. N. C. The farm is a refuge for Canadian wild geese and from all reports is very interesting to see. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Burdette and Herman recently attended a birthday dinner in h o n o r of Mrs. Burdette's mother. Mrs. Manning, of Iva. Mrs. Manning was 8'1 years young. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Poole have moved into their recently completed home on Prather Circle. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Boozer and little son of Hartsville, spent a recent weekend with the former's parents, the Ray Boozers. Friends will be interested to know that Donald, who is with the Curtis Candy Co., has been promoted to Supervisor and is being transferred to Jacksonville, Fla. We wish him every success in his new job. Our r2 Weave Room "Secret-Pal" club enjoyed their annual Thanksgiving dinner pany ai me nome 01 Mrs. Eleanor Fuller, with Mrs. Harold Hampton and Mrs. Lucille Dunnaway as co-hostesses. The dining tables were beautifully appointed with linen cut-work cloths, and center arrangements of vel1 o w chrysanthemums and greenery. A bountiful turkey dinner was served to the guests. After which games were played and gifts exchanged. All members were present, with Mrs. Carrie Gallman as special guest. Guess this is all the news for the month and since we won't be back again till after the holidays, your reporter would like to wish each and everyone of you a Merrv Christmas and Happy New Year.
