THE CLOTHMAKER The family of Mrs. Ada Center enjoyed a birthday dinner Sunday, Sept. 29. The occasion was Mrs. Center's 79th birthday. Those at tending were: Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hughes, Iris and Jimmy, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Holtzclaw and family of Greer, Mrs. Essie Powell and family of Greer, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holtzclaw, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Fuller and Gail of Greenwood, Mrs. Vesta Eubanks. Mrs. Bessie Holtzclaw and Marvin Holtzclaw. Ermie McCall was delightfully surprised with a birthday paity at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. McCall. Games were played and afterwards delightful refreshments were served bv her mother. Ermie received many lovely gifts. On Sent ember 30 Mrs. Os car Kinarcl was hostess to a number of friends honoring Miss Polly Brazill, October bride-elect. Several games were enjoyed including a writing of well wishes and advice to the bride. A delicious salad plate and coffee was served by the hostess assisted bv Mrs. Boyd 1 lolt/.claw. Carl Wells, of Rock Hill. S. C. Mr. Wells was killed in an accident near Chester. S. C. Our This handsome lad is the son of Rev. and Mrs. J. L. Slaughter. He was four years old October 20th. The Trammell family celebrated a family birthday reunion in September. They had nine birthdays in their family. Mr. and Mrs. Fred McCarson. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Turner and friends attended the "P romenade Party" on WFBC Television recently. They sure did enjoy it. They say old Fred and Albert looked good on T.Y. I didn't get to see them. Mr. and Mrs. Vesta Wehunt announce the birth of a son. Johnny Carlton. September JO at Joanna Hospital. Mrs. Wehunt is the former Miss Billie Dee Hooper. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Turner and family spent the weekend in Danville. Va.. recently. They visited Marvin and Charles Turner and families. Mr. and Mrs. Ulvss Gilliam celebrated their 14th wed ding anniversary October 2. Mr. George Davis spent the weekend visiting his mother. Mrs. Mary Davis, in Kingsport. Tenn., recently. James Wells' little boy. Jackie, caught his hand in the wringer of their washing machine recently. We are glad his hand is going to be alright. He's better now. Patsy Miles and her grand 3 mother, Mrs. Gladys Hucks, has had the flu. They are better now. Margie Avery was also sick with the flu last week. We are glad to see her back at work. Our congratulations to Lawrence Lanford, Jr., and Carol Bryson who were married September 13 at the home of Rev. Betts, Pastor of the A.R.P. Church on South Broad Street. They have returned from a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn. We wish them many years of happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Chestley King celebrated their 7th anniversary September 27.
