Mr. and Mrs. Milton Milam were recent Sunday visitors of the latter's sister, Mrs. Sadie Grant, in Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Burdette attended the funeral of Mrs. Burdette's uncle, J. W. Wiles, of Iva, on May 25. The Jimmy Mays recently visited Mrs. Joe Oulla of Augusta, Ga. Mrs. Frances Meeks and children spent Saturday in Spartanburg with her sister, Mrs. W. H. Callahan. The John Gallmans and little daughter, Teresa, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Riley in Rock Hill on Sunday. The Rav Boozers recently visited the Donald Boozers in their new home at Hartsville. Mrs. Agnes Williams has received word that her sister, Mrs. Daisy Lewis, has ar rived safely in Stuttgart, Germany, where her husband. Sgt. Bill Lewis, is stationed. They will be there lor a three year tour of duty. Friends of Mrs. J. H. Crowe will be interested to know that she is much improved after an illness and left Saturday for an extended visit with her daughter and sonin-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry 11^11 1 All 1_1 xiuimuu, in AiiL-naaie. one was accompanied bv her daughter. The Edgar Burdettes and Herman visited the Wilson Campbells in Charlotte recently. The Joe Corleys attended the funeral of Mrs. Corlev's uncle, Mr. Rufus Strickland, in Columbia. tJirinaays Donnie Ballew was 6 years old on May 31. Jimmie Patterson will be 7 years old on June 20. Barbara Jo Todd was 19 years old on June 6. Daisy Lewis celebrates a birthday June 18. Eloise Cannon celebrated her birthday June 2. (but she won't tell us how old she is). Johnny Cannon was 11 years old May 15. Happy Anniversary to: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corley celebrated their 18th anniversary on June 2. Mr.'and Mrs. T. O. Williams observed their 31st anniversary on June 4. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Todd celebrated their 20th anniversary on May 28. Sorrv to report that James Knight is out with a sore hand. Our "Secret-Pal" club in Weave Room =2 recently had a lovely Easter party at the home of Mrs. Frances Meeks with Mrs. E. C. Burdette 1 serving as co-hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Hughey had a very successful fishing < trip down on the Santee- i Cooper River. They caught 16 Rock Bass last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl McAlister and son of Williamston, N. Nabors Well this month roallv went by didn't it? The best thing we have to report is there is not as much sickness this time. Your reporter had dinner at Laurens on Sunday, the 26th, and had the privilege of eating dinner with my five sisters for the first time in 5 ears. My only brother ouldn't come, so we made he most of it, but I really njoyed myself. Tommy Moore, our second and, is still enjoying his ishing. We were very sorry to hear f the death of Mr. Jones, an ncle of Mr. Fred Bodie, our )verseer. Also of the mother f Mrs. Mae Nelson of Aiken 'ounty. Mr. Pat Nelson is on the ick list, he has the mumps, teminds us of childhood avs. But we hope for him a peedy recovery. I see we are losing a good i/arn soinner to the third r I hift. Well someone has to ain when we lose. We hope he enjoys working on the hird shift. We welcome to the second hift Sarah Young. Also Ben prouse and John Stone, who las been on the first shift. Well it has been a pleasure o bring this news because here hasn't been very much ickness to report. Lizzie Davis and Lillie Mae seal of the Spooling Dept., elebrated a birthday Sunlav, June 2nd. Neither said vhich one it was. Lizzie Davis' son celebrated iis birthday June 7th. Joel Cox gave the invocation prior to the supper. J. B. Templeton. Vice-President, spoke briefly to the group and extended his personal congratulations and commended them for their desire and efforts in obtaining additional job skills. He concluded by saying that, "the same and similar classes will be held in the future when there is sufficient interest among groups of employees who are qualified to absorb and benefit from the training".
