His mother and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wood of Greenwood accompanied him. L. E. reports back for duty to Norfolk, Va. SP 3 James R. Wooten, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Woote" spent a 30-dav leave at home after being in Germany for a year. He received a discharge Feb. 6 at Fort Jackson, re-enlisted for six years. Jimmy will be stationed at Fort Jackson and has taken an apartment in Columbia, where his wife and dauehtor will live with him. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wood and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lindley and daughter of Belton visited Mrs. Wood's mother, Mrs. Dora Leopard. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ward and children of Greenwood spent a recent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Barker. The Rudolph Barkers returned the visit the following Sunday. We welcome a newcomer to our department. William Nalley. Hope you're enjoying working with us, William. His daughter Velma Braswell was married to Airman John Butler of Laurens Feb. 26. Mr. Butler is in the Air Corps in New Hampshire. Mr. Dave Lawson was honored with a birthday dinner Feb. 17. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. James Mavnore and children of Spartanburg. Billv Lawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lawson, has been transferred from Del mo, texas, to Waco, Texas. He is in the Air Force. Glad to know Vera Bellue is able to be back at work again. We extend our sympathy to the family of Johnnie Owings, who died Feb. 18 in the Laurens Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II.
