(} 1 i> Io TRAGEDY RESULT OF DISPUTE. Walter L. Ellis Killed bv His Brother, Robert Elllis. Walter L Ellis of Greenville, died at )> o'clock yesterday afternoon from injuries inflicted by his brother, Robert Ellis yesterday morning at the Ellis ginnery three miles from Lasley noth are sons of Mr. William Kllis of Pickens county, a well known and highly esteemed citizen. The tragedy, it apoears, started from a very trivial matter. b roni trie evidence at t lie coroner's inquest which was held last evening, the two men became engaged in a dispute over the work at the ginnery. Walter Ellis became an^ry and picked 11 p a monkey wrench making toward Robert with it. Mr. William Ellis, the father of the two men was standing near by ; n<l he called to Robt. to rim. This Robert did. making his way aeross 111? rail road track. Walter I hen started after him with the wrench in his hand despite the protests of ins talnor, who urged mm to droy> I lie dispute. Robert Ellis ran several yards across the railroad track, which passed near the ginnery ajid stopped. As his brother Walter advanced on him with the wrench in his hand he picked up a rock ;md called to him to stop. Walter kept advancing whereupon Robert threw the rock at him with great force, hitting him upon the temple, and fracturing his skull. Dr. C. B. The coroner's inquest returned a verdict to th? effect that Walter Ellis came to his death by wouuds inflicted by Itobert Ellis, his brother. The latter was arrested and is now in the county jail at Pickens. Walter Kllis is well known in (Jreenvillo, having lived here for several years past.
