FROM OUR CO From North Carolina, -iendersonville, N. C., April 10, 1908. Editor Journal:-I have just -returnett from a trip to the s3outh; visited in Greenville and -a part of Pickens county; met ,several of my old friends, whom I Was very glad to see. I no -ticed a good many changes for the better, but still room for imi provement. I still love south Carolina, and especially Pickens county, and wish every oie well, even if the good wishes are not reciprocat cd; but I am far happier at my home in the thriving little town -1 Hendeirsonville, which keeps -climbing inl spite of the money Panlic. -Those who were gone durinig' the winter are return ing, and things are becoming lively. There is a lot of work going on here. Sev eral good houses are being built, cement sidewalks being put in, and all preparing for the sunner vis itors. With good wishes for the ed itor and his many friends, I will close. Yours, SONNIE. Card of Thanks. To the many friends of Mr. A. B. Howell: in behalf of the fam ily I will attempt to express the many many thanks to the friends and neighbors of Central who has been so kind to them through recent illness of Mrs. M. S. Howells, who recently died from pneumonia and measles. They have nobly stood by us through our conflict and through the sad Death they showed the good of living in a Christian neighborhood. Of course the heart felt thanks goes first to the great bounds of such a spirit, which was manifested in the hearts of the good people of Ccin tral, may the people not think this was written for fake. For it is a heartfelt thanks which cannot be expressed. B. E. Brookshire.
