USC students appear to be heavily involved with the site, as 5,499 students and alumni are currently listed. The opinions from students about the site appear to be varied. “Myspace is great for staying in touch with your friends, but past that, it gets dull real quick,” said Merideth Pettit, a first-year media arts student. The abilities of the site have come under fire in the past few months as some people are using the site for nefarious means. One such case in San Antonio, Texas revealed the site’s ability to reach the student body of a school in that area. Two students posted on the San Antonio Warren High School message board claiming that they were going to show up at school with guns. Of the 3,000 students that attend the high school, only a little more than 400 showed up to the school during the day in question. The two students were arrested and faced charges of domestic terrorism and disruption of a high school campus. Sexual predators can use the site for meeting and stalking victims. An incident in New York involved a 38 year-old man sending lewd messages to a 14-year-old girl. Robert Wise was arrested and charged with multiple accounts of sexual assault after it was revealed that he had used the site to have sex with another 14-year old girl. However mixed opinions about Myspace may be, the site has become a major source of revenue for its parent company, Intermix Media, which was bought out in July by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation. Mix in beans, bell pgpper, tomatoes, and corn; cook until heated through. Spread 6 tortillas with equal amounts of the bean and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle with equal amounts of the Cheddar cheese, and top with the remaining tortillas to form quesadillas. Heat 1/4 cup oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place quesadillas in the skillet and cook, turning once, until cheese is melted and both sides are lightly browned.
