Steelman said the Refried net work enables students to find this year, and is considering two scripts to produce during the sum mer. According to Steelman, Refried’s best film was “Followed,” a psychological hor ror about campus living. “It exposes the scary parts about living on campus,” Steelman said. “It follows a girl walking from the Coliseum to Capstone at night.” Refried also produced an unti tled public service announcement for a national anti-teen pregnan cy organization. Refried also produces scripts. “We’re an extremely open group, and we make any kind of •movie,” Mehaffey said. “There are whole lot of creative people out there, and we get input from all different creative angles.” Refried produced three films l\Cil XCU O ilimo HCiC L CLCUUJ screened at the Student Film Festival sponsored by Carolina Productions. “The reception to ‘Followed’ was great. People really liked the film,” Steelman said. “‘Truly Looks Like Love’ received mixed reviews.” According to Markovich, the scripts being considered for the summer include a teen film and a superhero film. “The teen film involves a high school student dealing with an identity crisis,” Markovich said. “He realizes he must deal with life PHOTO SPECIAL TO THE GAMECOCK Members of Refried Films prepare to film a movie. by either being creative or de structive.” Mehaffey is'in the process of writing the superhero script, ti tled “Brainstorm.” The story chronicles the trans formation of a gawky boy who be comes a superhero after receiv ing telepathic and telekinetic powers from an alien encounter. “The superhero always gets to be the big guy, and this glorifies the nerds and geeks, who have the smarts,” Mehaffey said.
