Sunday, Sept. 29 O MALICIOUS INJURY TO PERSONAL PROPERTY, MCBRYDE“B”QUAD,1311 1 BLOSSOM ST. Nimesh Patel said someone threw a beer bottle through his room window. Estimated damage: $100. Reporting officer: J.B. Coaxum. Q LARCENY OF CAR RADIO, CD PLAYER, BULL STREET GARAGE, 611 BULL ST. Jennifer Barclay said someone broke into her vehicle and took Roberta ; Turner’s radio and CD player. Estimated value: $250. Reporting officer: M.P. Craska O ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO POLICE VEHICLE, GREENE AND GADSEN STREETS Reporting officer P.F. Jones didn’t notice a drop-off on Gadsen Street until he had crossed it. The vehicle’s bumper was damaged. O MINOR IN POSSESSION OF BEER, UNLAWFUL USE OF LICENSE, BULL AND DEVINE STREETS. Reporting officer M.L. Gooding saw Andrew Bagby with a 12-ounce Bud Light. Matt Hedrick said Kevin Murray entered his room and damaged his lava lamp and his roommate Nick Knowles’ sofa. Estimated damage: $210. Reporting officer: J.A. Clarke. Monday, Sept. 30 ® ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, 1215 DEVINE ST. Seth Cope said his car was hit by another vehicle in the lot, and his left rear bumper was damaged. Reporting officer: B. Timbers. 0 AUTO break-in, larceny OF CD PLAYER, B-6 LOT, GAMBRELL HALL, 817 HENDERSON ST. Marty Becker said someone broke into her car through the passenger-side window and stole a portable CD player. Estimated damage: $40. Reporting officer: L.R. When the Bursar’s Office notified the vic tim that the check was already cashed, she immediately called the police, who determined that the check had been stolen and the money obtained by a forged sig nature. Lt. D. Henry Garbade of the USC Police Department said in vestigations of the crimes are on going. “As in any investigation, we’re interested in the possibility of similar crimes in different ju risdictions,” Garbade said. . “There’s no telling how far this thing may branch out. ” Until these criminals are ap prehended, students can take pre cautions to avoid becoming a vic tim. “Never give your PIN num ber out over the phone; banks will never ask for it,” Amonson said. “And make sure you lock your mailbox.” Garbade also has some advice for students: “The important “Never give your PIN number out over the phone; banks will never ask for it.
