HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY: The school where Harry is trained in the arts of wizardry. QUIDDITCH: The favored sport of the wizard world. Imagine hockey plus soccer, with four balls going 50 mph 100 feet in the air SORTING HAT: A magical hat that places each new student at Hogwarts into one of four school houses. GRYFFINDOR, HUFFLEPUFF, RAVENCLAW, SLYTHERIN: The four houses at Hogwarts; Harry, Ron and Hermione are in Gryffindor, as are a few Preston residents. GALLEONS, SICKLES, KNUTS: Wizard money. So head out to the theater, but keep in mind that, behind a lot of movies, there’s a much better book. One hopes this movie will live up to its book, but, either way, take note of this series. (There has been word of the release date of Harry Potter No. 5, except it will be sometime in 2002. The movie opens today at most Columbia area theaters.) Piebald Emo band refuses to grow up CONTINUED FROM PAGE 7 almost as a lullaby, “fell asleep with my clothes on, dreamt that you were part of my history.” The cover art supports this emo trend by showing pictures of the band in nature, with bright blue skies and tear-jerking sunsets. But, if you notice in one of these emotional moments in the cover art, one of them is urinating off an embankment. This pee-pee humor is obvious in the photos shown in the inside of their second album, When Life Hands You Lemons. One day, the four band members stopped at a truck stop and took a picture of the four of them peering out of showers at the camera. The infamous pre pubescent bather lingers still in their lyrical booklets. The band has the remarkable ability of keeping its sense of humor and refusing to grow up. The band still tours in the same old bus that they’ve had since at least their second album. Do you remember those days of riding to school on the bus with the bouncy leather seats? Well, these guys must miss this feeling. Its tour bus is a short yellow school bus with age, rust and stickers along for the ride. So, be on the look out for the short yellow bus cruising around Five Points this Sunday. The band packs an arsenal of newer sappier songs along with the hard stuff from way-back-when that everyone loves, and maybe if the crowd is good, Piebald will play some tracks off its new album that it recorded last month. Also playing will be Element 101 and Fairweather, two bands that frequent the Columbia music scene.
