You can call it sentimental, wistful, nostalgic, even downright pathetic, but for some reason, this action bothers people. Now, no one will dispute the point that USC is in desperate need of additional housing for its students. The fact students need a new dorm at all is a positive sign, indicating the university is fulfilling its mission and providing more students with an education. It's hard to argue against such progress, especially when it involves the future of so many young people. East Quad, as the new dorm will be called, will certainly help ease the strain on the school's growing waiting list for on-campus housing.
