Three pointers were in the Gamecocks' arsenal as three Carolina players completed the long ball: Davis, Rouse and David Ross. Davis was 3-for-4, Ross l-for-5 and Rouse 2-for-4. Less than five minutes into the game, two of Carolina's new crop entered the line up. Damien Kinloch and Aaron Lucas each added their own flare to the eame as Kin loch was 2-for-2 at the free throw line and was the leading freshman scorer with 12 points. "I could see right away that it I still bothered him," Fogler said. 1 Grant will be unable to play in Carolina's upcoming trip to In- L diana this weekend. "That will hurt our team this weekend, but that's part of the game," Fogler said. Carolina went into halftime with a two-point lead, after a last-second attempt by Marathon < failed.
