Making his first major appearance in front of 106,301 spectators, Penn gave a performance worthy of Heisman consideration when you weigh his game against that of Manning's. ^ Penn completed 56.3 percent of his passes, compared to 32 percent for Manning. In total passing yardage, Penn's total was 16 yards fewer than Manning's. Manning threw for zero TDs and one interception. Penn, on the other hand, had no interceptions and one TD pass.
