The Columbia native has McKie, who has perhaps been the most consistent player for the Gamecocks so far, led the way against the Bulldogs with 24 points on 8-of12 shooting. Defense, which had proven vital in the wins over Auburn and Tennessee was once again the key element in this one. The Gamecocks held MSU to just 21.7 percent shooting in the second half after the Bulldogs shot a stellar 60.7 percent in the first. "We picked up the defensive intensity in the second half," McKie said. "We talked about what had won it for us our last three games, and that was our defense."
