On Saturday, USC defeated the University of New Hampshire 3-1 behind sophomore Kristinn Larusson's two goals. Also scoring for the Gamecocks was Chuck Prosser. USC outshot the Wildcats 22-4. In the championship match, the No. 7 Gamecocks were pitted against the No. 6 St. Louis Billikens. USC won the shootout 4-3 with sophomore Clint Mathis scoring three goals. Senior defender Billy Cliccord scored the other goal for USC. Junior goalkeeper John Mills made six saves in the victory. New Hampshire defeated Davidson in the first game of the day, 2-1, to take third place in the tournament. Tony Soto, Clifford, Larusson and Mathis were named to the All-Tournament Team with Mathis winning Offensive MVP.
