Taneyhill and John Healy were staying at a Day's Inn in downtown Charleston Saturday night, and the pahhave agreed to pay $75 for a broken chair, according to a police report. A crowd of200 gathered Monday as lawmakers and representatives of other hospitals criticized the proposed partnership between MUSC and for-profit Trident Regional Health Systems. "Is this merger the proper use of state taxpayer money?" asked attorney Susan Smythe, a board member of Roper Health Systems, a competing hospital system.
