Gamec 2nd-rai By TIM THORSEN Sports Editor The roller coaster that has been the South Carolina basketball season continues its ride tonight at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. There the Gamecocks will try to get back to .500 in the Southeastern Conference. Unfortunately for Gamecock fans, the opponent is the conferenceleading University of Kentucky Wildcats. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 18-2 overall and 8-2 in the SEC. Kentucky is ranked second in the nation, behind only the Indiana Hoosiers. For the Gamecocks to have a chance, they must find a way to shut down the blitzkreig that is the Kentucky offense. In their hip to Columbia earlier this season, the Wildcats rolled up 108 points in bashing the Gamecocks 108-82. The assault was not even led by junior All-American forward Jamal Mashburn.
