The roller coaster that has been
the South Carolina basketball season
continues its ride tonight at
Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky.
There the Gamecocks will try to
get back to .500 in the
Southeastern Conference.
Unfortunately for Gamecock fans,
the opponent is the conferenceleading
University of Kentucky
Wildcats.
The Wildcats come into the
game with a record of 18-2 overall
and 8-2 in the SEC. Kentucky is
ranked second in the nation,
behind only the Indiana Hoosiers.
For the Gamecocks to have a
chance, they must find a way to
shut down the blitzkreig that is the
Kentucky offense. In their hip to
Columbia earlier this season, the
Wildcats rolled up 108 points in
bashing the Gamecocks 108-82.
The assault was not even led by
junior All-American forward Jamal
Mashburn. Kentucky's leading
scorers that night were junior center
Rodney Dent and freshman forRugby

SPRING BREAK RESEARCH
USC Researcher needs undergraduate
female students, ages 18 to 23, to participate
in focus groups to explore knowledge
of and attitudes toward sexual assault
during Spring Break.
Women must be in one of two groups:
1) those who have gone on Spring Break
to Florida or the Gulf Coast in the past
two years; or 2) those who intend to go
on Spring Break to Florida or the Gulf
Coast this year, but have never gone on
a Spring Break before.
Focus groups will be conducted by experienced
female facilitator and will be
videotaped. All focus groups will last 60
to 90 minutes and will take place in the
College of Journalism and Mass Communications
between the hours of 9 a.m.
and 5 p.m. All participants will be REQUIRED
to sign a written consent form
and will be paid $10.
To participate in this project, call

South Carolina must also battle
the rabid Wildcat fans. Kentuck)
has not lost a home game all sea

South Carolina will also neec
big games from everyone, especially
juniors Emmett Hall and
Jamie Watson. Hall must duplicate
his Tennessee game output, when
he tallied career-highs in both

in 23 points.
Also, senior Edmund Wilson
must be the force on the boards
that he was last time against the
Wildcats. In that game, Wilson
ripped down a season-high 14
rebounds. The Wildcats relative
lack of height should enable
Wilson to do the same tonight.

USC their second score of the

by HCI to the school would total
$2.5 million. That is an increase of
about $325,000 annually from the

the country, including fully staffed
operations in New York, Chicago
