Editor International cuisine, fashion, live music and much more will be part of the International Festival on Greene Street today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The street festival is one part of USC's International Spring Fling, a week of events recognizing the different nationalities represented on campus. USC has 1,136 full time international students representing 105 different countries. In addition to the festival, an International Dance will be tonight from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Russell House Ballroom. All events are free, and all students are ' welcome to participate. Mark Eckert, programming coordinator for the International Programs for Students, said he expects several thousand people to attend the festival. "We've had between 1,000 and 1,500 people in the past, and we're hoping that the reggae band will bring in even more," he said. "This is an opportunity for students to meet the rest of the world." Thursday's events include a Dresentation on "Ger J I many in the Twentieth Century" at 4 p.m. in Gambrell Hall room 152, as well as a movie presented by the Baha'i Club, "A Symbol of Unity for India," at 7:30 ^ p.m. in BA Building room 364 The week is co-sponsored by the James F. Byrnes International Center, International Programs for Students, the USC Career Center, the International Student Association, the Department of History, the Baha'i Club and the Carolina Program Union.
