Festival time!
International cuisine,
music highlight fair
By LEE CLONTZ
Assistant Carolina! Editor
International cuisine, fashion, live music and much
more will be part of the International Festival on
Greene Street today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The street festival is one part of USC's International
Spring Fling, a week of events recognizing the
different nationalities represented on campus.
USC has 1,136 full time international students representing
105 different countries.
In addition to the festival, an International Dance
will be tonight from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Russell House
Ballroom. All events are free, and all students are '
welcome to participate.
Mark Eckert, programming coordinator for the International
Programs for Students, said he expects several
thousand people to attend the festival.
"We've had between 1,000 and 1,500 people in the
past, and we're hoping that the reggae band will bring
in even more," he said. "This is an opportunity for
students to meet the rest of the world."
Thursday's events include a Dresentation on "Ger

The week is co-sponsored by the James F. Byrnes
International Center, International Programs for Students,
the USC Career Center, the International Student
Association, the Department of History, the
Baha'i Club and the Carolina Program Union.
