Day in sti Studei By JACK DUNN Staff Writer On Friday, Nov. 1, "Into The Streets," a volunteer program including many campus organizations, held a reception for the more than 200 students who took part in the earlier day's activities. The students broke off into individual groups to discuss the programs with which they were involved. Issues tackled included children at risk, senior citizens, hunger, homelessness, literacy, health care, environment and domestic violence. Theatre and speech junior Kim Lovelace was the student coordinator for the "Into The Streets" program. She talked about the program's goals and accomplishments. "It's a three-part program," Lovelace said. "There's an orientation beforehand, which everyone got We told them where they're going, wnai iney re going 10 ao and we discussed any fears or stereotypes they might have. "Then there's the project itself, and the facilitation afterwards is where we discuss the experiences we've had," Lovelace continued.
