FRIDAY, APRIL 1. 1988 LIFELINE A QUICK REAO ON WHAT PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT BATES BEACH: USC's favorite place to bake, they thought. . .A 30-ton whale was found on the beach Thursday morning by a beach frequenter and resident of Bates House. USC marine biologists have moved the whale to their labs for further research. "This is great," said biologist Jackie Cousteau. "It's not everyday a whale just pops out of the sky and you can examine it. It saves you that long, three-hour drive down to the beach where they normally pop up. But opportunity knocks in mysterious ways." WILD WILLIE: Fulfilling a fantasy he has had since he was a little piker of 12, country-western singer Willie Nelson took a joy ride on Roy Rogers' best friend Trigger. This past week Nelson snuck into the Roy Rogers Museum in Tumbleweed, 1 CAtf .> ill III >UCV.CMI Uliy IllitllilgCU HJ UUIIUW I lie Mill I I'll CqUIIlC for a spin around the block. Nelson was caught as lie was replacing the glass case over the animal, and police reports said he started singing a song to the tune of "On the Road Again." "In the Stir Again," he was reported as singing, "just can't wait to get in the stir again. . . ." BECAUSE WE LIKE YOU: The Mouseketeers arc coming our way. The new Mickey Mouse Club will be holding interviews on the Russell House Patio this weekend for all aspiring Cubbys and Annettes. Applicants should be able to perform the Mickey Mouse Club theme song, including a key impersonation of Donald Duck and must own a pair of official Mickey Mouse ears. By the way, we think Mickey's great, but we always wondered ? what's Goofy? WHERE ARE YOU?: Maynard Davenport, a tidepool studies freshman, has been reported lost. His roommate, Joe Don Danny Fisher, also a tidepool studies freshman, said, "He was there one minute and then lickity split he was gone the next." Apparently Davenport's files. . . and Davenport himself were accidentally erased by a university employee during room registration Tuesday in the Towers lounge. Computers are your friends?
