Dis D - I i ? ? ? .ijy jonn Xi (|?| Since this is my last column of the year, I'm dispensing with the usual record reviews and instead presenting this year's "Golden trout Awards," which are so dubbed tor no apparent reason. These rather dubious honors are not decided on by ballots that arc counted by a prestigious accounting firm. There arc no particular criteria for the awards; they basically represent the records that showed up most frequently on my stereo, that ir ritated me the most or the records I just decided to write about. l eading off is my personal top II records for 1986 in alphabetical order. Midnight Oil Species Deceases and "The Dead Heart" This doesn't really qualify as an album (one's an extended play, one's a single), but the two arc good enough for two full albums. Worst Video: The Los Angeles Raiders nudge all the videos from Rocky IV by a nose for their "Silver and Black Attack" nightmare. "The Super Bowl Shuffle" was lame enough, but the Raiders don't even play football as well as the Chicago Bears. And they can't sing either. Comeback Award: I h c Monkces win in a landslide.
