Sophomore forward Peggy Glass came off the bench to score all of her 14 points in the first half. Laura Glass, Peggy's twin sister, picked up where Peggy left off, scoring 10 of her 16 points in the second half and pulling down 16 rebounds, 10 off the offensive boards. Sophomore Amy McAlister reached donhlo figures as well with 10 points. "I was glad that this was a relaxing game, especially for our seniors, since it was their final regular season home game," Wilson said. Memphis State had been upset 82-80 by Florida State in its previous outing but turned an early deficit into a commanding 15-point lead at halftime. From there, the Tigers increased their lead to 20 points on two occasions before the Gamecocks rallied and cut the final margin to 13. Keith James put USC on top first by taking the opening tip and driving for a layup. Baskets by Michael Foster and Terry Dozicr, whose return to action was greeted by a standing ovation, kept the Gamecocks in the lead until the 11:20 mark of the first half. But from then things went sour for Bill Foster's P 1- - VJcllllCl'Ul'K?) . USC was leading 19-15, but a pair of baskets by point guard Andre Turner and two more scores by backcourt mate Dwight Boyd put Memphis State up by four. Linwood Moye scored on a jumper that brought the Gamecocks to within two with 9:12 remaining, but that was as close as USC would get. Gamecock turnovers, coupled with the Tigers' rapid transition game, put USC behind 43-28 at the half. USC head coach Bill Foster pointed to the final 10 minutes / * Pi*** MO ?L;\. a-.i''.".
