Noonan says the main emphasis this year will be working on the team's short game and course management. "Most of the girls can hit the ball OK, but need the experience of playing under pressure and in situations that, when they get to the tournaments, thev know how to react." Noonan said. FIVE TOURNAMENTS are scheduled this fall and in January the team will be travelling to Guadalajara, Mexico for the Oklahoma State University/Guadalajara Invitational, one of the big tournaments of the year according to Noonan. In Mexico, the Lady Gamecocks can expect to face Tulsa, Stanford and Florida as their toughest opponents. Another tournament, the WSIC in Athens, Ga., will be an important one. Coach Noonan said she looks forward to this tournament personally because she used to direct it and the national championships there. This is also the last tournament if the team does not make it to the Nationals, but Noonan says she is confident the team will be there.
