_wi re - Electric car program ends GREENVILLE, S.C. <AP)! A The city of Greenville's brief affair with electric cars is about to end. Because of uneven performance, the city will phase out the 11 station wagons it bought with a federal grant two years ago. It will keep the four vans that have had better per iurmance. A few of the cars will be replaced with new gasolinepowered vehicles in 1983, but most will not be replaced. Most city employees who have them will share vehicles next year with other employees. The program will have cost the city about $150,000 when the three-year period ends next June, but municipal officials said the electric fleet experiment was not bad judgment. Car strikes actress Brennan LOS ANGELES (AP) - Actress Eileen Brennan, who plays the crankv cantain in television's "Private Rpniomin M woo in critical condition yesterday after being struck by a car, police said. The 48-year-old actress was hit at 11 p.m. Wednesday while walking across a Venice street with actress Goldie Hawn, said Los Angeles traffic Sgt. Harry Ryon. Both Ms. Brennan's legs were broken, and she suffered skull and facial fractures and possible internal injuries, Ryon said. The Burtz brothers are William Shane, the oldest, followed by William Archie III, William Matthew and William Clyde. The surgery was postponed, however, because of "medical problems," said Beverly Brennaman, an administrative supervisor at the hospital. All four were discharged on Wednesday, she said.
