Electric car program ends
GREENVILLE, S.C. <AP)! A The city of Greenville's brief
affair with electric cars is about to end.
Because of uneven performance, the city will phase out the
11 station wagons it bought with a federal grant two years
ago. It will keep the four vans that have had better per
iurmance.
A few of the cars will be replaced with new gasolinepowered
vehicles in 1983, but most will not be replaced. Most
city employees who have them will share vehicles next year
with other employees.
The program will have cost the city about $150,000 when the
three-year period ends next June, but municipal officials said
the electric fleet experiment was not bad judgment.

were in the same hospital Wednesday to have the same
operation on the same day, but all four were discharged
Wednesday without undergoing surgery.
The Austell boys ? aged 6, 5, 3 and 2 ? were at Cobb
General Hospital near Austell to have their tonsils removed.
The Burtz brothers are William Shane, the oldest, followed
by William Archie III, William Matthew and William Clyde.
The surgery was postponed, however, because of "medical
problems," said Beverly Brennaman, an administrative
supervisor at the hospital. All four were discharged on
Wednesday, she said.

Cortes, the Spanish parliament, and
for 207 seats in the Senate. Under the
Spanish constitution, the leader of the
