Watanabe's "Lyric Song" was an excellent finale. It began in a soft setting, as dancers in shades of red and brown moved effortlessly through the jazz/ballet. The soft mood had a latent power until midway through the piece, when the dancers burst into the contemporary sound of Earth, Wind ana f ire. Watanabe himself executed several difficult leaps, contortions and extentions in his powerful style. He was Earle's partner in a smooth movement and joined Roldan and Rosie Dangerfield, who complemented Watanabe well, in a jazz movement. The piece ended on an exciting note and was received by an appreciative audience. The key to the success of "Visions of Dance" was its choreographers' diversity.
