She took the helm on October 1 5, 1 980. Ms. Bunn, who calls Asheville, N.C., her home town, brings with her to South Carolina a Sirong background in the Hecreational Sport field. After graduating from Indiana University in 1978 with a Masters Degree in Physical Education and Intramural Administration, she worked as an Assistant Manager at a :.s' ^?PP? Ms. Bunn had previously completed her undergraduate work at Peace College in Raleigh, North Carolina, and U N C Wilmington, with a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education. Her career aspirations have always been to return to work in Intramurals at a major university, and she is very excited about her move here. She hopes that experience will help her in offering some pointers to the ever growing program here at USC. "The program here at USC is in a very exciting stage. There is really no limit as to the ideas for program improvement that can be developed. The potential to continue doubling participation with our present equipment and facilities is definitely there." I see this as an administrative organization that could help to pull all the sport clubs together to help solve their common problems. It could heln to tr;iin new students in club procedures. Improvement in sport club promotion could also Coum The Intramural/Recreational Sports Council, formed this semester to allow more student input in the Intramural program, has definitely been hard at work over the last couple of weeks. As reported in the October 15, 1980, issue of the Shoney's Sports Flash, the Council began their governorship by instigating changes in flag football. Their move was in response to student concern over violence in Intramurals. This past November 5, the Council initiated several other changes at the November Manager's Meeting. The three proposals presented by Council spokesman Mark Hyndman. passed with a unanimous vote, and will take effect immediately The first proposal penalizes an organization for 11U1IU By Jeff Coates Sports Flash Editor Are you looking f o i something to break the December Finals Blues? The Intramural/Recreational Sports Office is offering a new Holidav Basketball Classic designed to do just that, as well as serve as a \A/arr>nir\ ? iui iicm acilKiblBr b Men's Basketball competition. Co sponsored by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. the Classic will be a Single Elimination tournament that will take place December 110. (Spectators during the final 3 days will lie charged a 50 cents donation that will be contributed to the Carolina Cares Program). The Entry Deadline for this prestigious Classic will be Thursday, Nov. 20, at 5:00 p.m. Comnetition will be divided into two Leagues, a Men's League and a Co Rec League. To enter this tournament each team must: (1) Submit a completed Team Entry Form, (2) Submit at least five names as a team, and (3) Submit a completed medical history form for each player. A Forfeit Fee will not be required for this uvciii, cirui i?ams cio not need to be affiliated with any organization. No competitive points will he awarded to any organization's team, but the winning two teams will each be awarded ten USC In tramural champion T-shirts. An exciting aspect of this tournament will be the Co Rec League. Requiring a minimum of two of each sex and a maximum of three of each sex on the 5 person team, this sport will he a first here at USC. All teams that qualify for the playoffs will be seeded according to their regular season records.
