WUSC wants to boost power; lacks money D. - T - ' oy iom uoyne Staff Writer The Federal Communications Commission has granted the campus radio station permission to increase its power to 3,000 watts, but WUSC-FM does not have the money to make the change. Ron Marsh, WUSC manager, said money is the only thing keeping the station from increasing its power. "It will take a minimum of $31,000 for us to secure the equipment we need," he said. Marsh said the power increase could come within a year if the money could be raised. "President Holderman and I have discussed the power increase, but no conclusion has been llrv ? ? "Right now we have the power of two CB radios, but with the power increase, we will have the power of WZLD. "We will also need a lot of new equipment," Glazer said. "1 think it will cost a minimum of $00,000." Gla/.er said the station probably will have to pay announcers stipends. We will be going out over the airwaves representing the university, and if the station is not good, it makes the university look bad."
