There is a big difference between giving a critique and vomiting up such intellectually stimulating descriptions as when, for example. Baker never does tell what he is looking for, and I for one found the film pleasing for several reason. It explores the area of establishing friendships at a high school level in an urban environment and sensitively shows its growth. It might not be "Breaking Away" or academy award material, but it leaves you with a good feeling. Isn't that what films are for? I've not often found films that adequately deal with relationships beyond a superficial level.
