Well, I've had enough. I'm
sick of Baker's opinionated
and high-handed remarks
concerning films. There is a
big difference between
giving a critique and
vomiting up such intellectually
stimulating
descriptions as when, for
example. Baker refers to Mv
Bodyguard as "stupefyingly
nnmnmiQ anH nftorlv Hull"
Well thanks, that tells a lot.
Baker never does tell what
he is looking for, and I for
one found the film pleasing
for several reason.
It explores the area of
establishing friendships at a
high school level in an urban
environment and sensitively
shows its growth. It might
not be "Breaking Away" or
academy award material,
but it leaves you with a good
feeling. Isn't that what films
are for?
I've not often found films
that adequately deal with
relationships beyond a
superficial level. Maybe it is

casting - as an innocent.

express my displeasure with
he statement made about
Emiline's method of
childbirth. I refer to the
comment, "...squatted, as if
:o relieve herself." While I

The method of the woman

modern practice which
mainly makes it easier on
the doctor, not the mother.
When the baby is being born
its head does not press on the

to be in while giving birth.
Having placed her in such a
position, however, does not
excuse director Kleiser from
having the baby fall from
