The school is expected to complete the move by 1982, when federally funded renovation of the old hospital buildings is finished. Medical school classes-and faculty offices are now scattered around the USC campus. THE LIBRARY contains more than 40,000 books, and the new facility will hold about 100,000 volumes, said Dr. Tom Lange, chief medical librarian. If additional expansion is necessary, the library can expand to the building's nthpr flnorc "We occupy the two center floors," Lange said. "If necessary at some future time, we can expand up or down to house about 500,000 volumes." The library lists its holdings on microfilm. The library's computers also list 7,000 health sciences periodicals found in South Carolina medical libraries.
