Browne has certainly experienced his share of ups and downs since his first album. Saturate Before Using, in 1970. Since then, his distinct California sound has gained him commercial appeal, which will undoubtedly peak with his newest release. Hold Out. At 8:30 p.m.. Browne and the band had 'held out' long enough and eased on me stage to the tranquilizing throbs of "The Fuse."
