The bears were borrowed from Sears & Roebuck. A faculty member's chained moped was stolen from the bicycle rack at Nada Apartments. The amount of milk and stolen money was undetermined. A student's CB was stolen from his locked truck at the Coliseum parking lot. There were no signs of forced entry. A faculty member reported someone had broken into his car and ! taken five fishing rods, five reels and nine tackle boxes with assorted fishing equipment. Persons had forced the right vent open while the car was parked at the Law Center parking lot. Baruch Institute for Marine Biology and Coastal Research has been awarded two grants totaling $785,866 by the National Science Foundation. The remaining grant of $330,000 will supplement state funds to build a second field laboratory and a new boathouse-shop at the Baruch Institute's field station near Georgetown at Hobcaw Barony. More than 500 scientists and USC students used the field laboratory in 1979 and last construction there was in 1977.
