This opportunity would be a great going away present for McGuire, who has participated seven times in the tourney which I will be concluded in New York's Madison Square Garden about a month from now. The first round NIT game however, is likely to be played at the Carolina Coliseum (assuming Carolina recieves the bid). Such a game would give USC's legendary Irishman at least one more day of glory at the building they call the "House that Frank built." But, with a 16-11 record and no real significant wins to its credit, it is doubtful that his team would get very far in the tournament.
