Gamecock Slafl Writer The results of a student survey indicated that The Crucible, USC's literary art magazine, is in need of a change, and "will expand its format to meet the needs of a contemporary student body," Jon Clemmensen, general manager of Student Media, said. The survey was conducted by Student Media personnel, under the direction of the USC College of Journalism and Perry Ashley, journalism nrr?fp<;cnr j r" ? Clemmensen said of the 431 students polled, 32 percent had never read The Crucible, and "a number of people thought that The Crucible was an athletic department publication." The new format was determined by the Board of Student Publications and Communications at its meeting Friday. The board sets policy and procedure for the student media. The new format will include, "humor, color photography, reviews of cultural events, opinions and commentary, a calendar of campus events and features by students, staff and faculty," Clemmensen said.
