The question is answered in madcap comedy style with Henry Winkler as Andy Schmidt, an adorably obnoxious acting student at an Ohio college in the 1950's. While in school Schmidt succeeds in stealing the show at the college I play, getting an ovation for faking an injury during a football game, and manages to crassly woo Kim Darby from her stuffy and prepish fiancee. Nothing seems to matter to Schmidt except himself. In his pursuit of Darby, SchmidtWinkler serenades her with "Getting to Know You" in a quiet ana pius restaurant, unce they are married Winkler discusses how happy they will be working on his problems for the first 20 years of marriage | and then her problems for the ! second 20. WINKLER and his bride move to New York so he can pursue his acting career. The humor in the film is a mixture of zaniness and vaudeville. The zany part is Winkler's performance as the star-struck Andy. The "Happy Days" star handles the role with a great deal of innocence and sensitivity. This makes for a humorous effect considering some of Andy's lines and actions, such as yelling to Darby outside a k.<;u;n>t v.iaooi win uuiiuuig, 11 yUli I C U virgin don't worry about it because I don't put anybody's business out in the street.!"
