Sparkleberry Artisans an nounces two short courses in Graduates 1 Two nationally-known leaders in criminal justice education and administration were named to start a graduate studies program in criminal justice at USC. Dr. William J. Mathias, coor dinator of criminal justice programs at Georgia State University, was named director of the USC program which was established by the 1974 S.C. General Assembly. Associate director is Ellis C. MacDougall, former director of state correc tional systems in Georgia, Con necticut and South Carolina. MacDougall said the program, which is set up as a 36-hour course, and its procedures must obtain approval from the USC Graduate School. He added that 18 people are enrolled in the program in a special capacity. If the program is approved, these people will be able to switch their hours twoard the degree. As for future enrollment, "We are really excited about student possibilities," MacDougall said "The potential is there to attract good students." The associate director said the criminal justice field is expanding. New goals have been set in nearly every business phase.
