Sunday, but not without putting up a major struggle. After splitting the first two sets with the University of Alabama's Sam Vuille, losing the first 4-6 and winning the second 7-6, Skaflestad fought off a triple-match point in the 12th game of the final set and forced a tie-breaker. Carolina's top seed, a transfer from junior college, went up 3-0 in the decisive tie-breaker but Vuille battled back to capture the match with a 7-6 victory in the third set. Skaflestead and Andreas Huf schmid also fell victim to Vuille in the doubles finals, losing to him and his partner, Chip Wade, 6-4, 7 6.
