Officials at North Carolina State University said they have not seen NC grades before and would have to make a decision when they receive them for consideration. Richard Baddour, assistant director of admissions said, "We probably won't see any until next year when we get some transfers from the University of North Carolina. We'll have to look carefully at them, but I don't ex pect we will take the given GPR in an NC system as the exact GPR. However, people who apply here are not going to have many NCs. We're looking for B average people, " he said. Despite the problems USC has had with the ABC and NC system, North Carolina State has instituted the NC system this fall for an experimental two-year period. After only three months of the system, the NC has fallen into disfavor among students. Bob Estes, editor of the Technician (State's student newspaper), said "The students are generally dissatisfied with the system. It is not the same as it started out to be. I think wehave hau "w wool pulled over our eyes with grading system." He said from interviews most students expressed dissatisfaction with tthe system. The NC system at N.C. State is different from Carolina's system. First, when the system was in stituted all previous D's and F's were left on the records and it will not erase them as USC's system did four years ago. Secona, the NC counts as a zero quality point so it is possible to graduate with less than a 2.0 quity point ratio.
