In addition to the apparent confusion over Afro's membership policy, there is also concern over its indiscreet handling of past funds. According to Paul Simoneau, chairman SAC, last spring the Afro American Association spent money not given to it. As Simoneau recalled, the Afro Americans had spent $178 on sporting goods. Simoneau said this money was expected in dues to the organization and from revenue collected during Black Week. So far, there is no official report where this money went. Robert E. Alexander, Dean for Student Activities, said he has asked the President and the Treasurer of the Afro American Association to explain how these $1,400 were spent.
