The course began looking at attitudes of and about women in the Bible and from there to such works as Sophocles "Antigone" to Frankenstein by Mary Shelley to the contemporary novel by Alix Kates Shulman, Memoirs of an Ex Prom Queen. Guest speakers have appeared in conjunction with some of these readings. Ann Brailsford came from the theatre department to lead a discussiodt on "Antigone" and the attitude of women in Green drama. Professor Paula Feldman, an expert in the English Depart ment on Mary Shelley, will be discussing Frankenstein. The class is not just lectures but mainly free form discussions.
